Handmade soap looks and smells beautiful but, made the traditional way, it can be really complicated and time-consuming to make. This week, Juliet’s introducing you to a much simpler alternative: melt and pour soap. Not only is it a fun project to make with the kids, there are so many ways to personalise this DIY and truly make the soap your own.

Working on a cutting mat, slice melt and pour soap base, then cut into 1cm cubes with a sharp knife.
Put soap cubes into a heatproof jug and microwave in 20-30 second increments, stirring after each, until cubes are fully melted. Add 3 tablespoons of honey and stir in.
Mix 1 teaspoon turmeric with 1 teaspoon rubbing alcohol in a small bowl, then add to melted soap and stir to combine.
Add 5 drops of sweet orange essential oil and stir to combine.
Pour into mould holes and allow soap to set for a few hours.
